Welcome

Welcome to Taneytown. You have come to a very special place. A renaissance has begun. Our town is thriving; and our Main Street businesses are eager to greet you. Every day the variety and quality of our shops is increasing. Chances are you’ll find what you need, right here, close to home. If you’re looking for that unique gift, we have it on Main Street.  Want a bite to eat, it’s here too. Homemade pottery, crafts, florist, a dance studio, print shop, hair salons, and barbers, and more all call Main Street home. Antiques, Bed & Breakfast, Bakery, Tea & Herbs. That’s right, they are here too! You can even do your banking, get a mortgage, have your taxes done, plan for retirement, schedule some remodeling, without ever leaving town.

Shop locally, and when you do, chances are you’ll be greeted by one over our over 100 smiling Taneytown Ambassadors. Taneytown is the Small Town with the Big Heart! Whether you call Taneytown home or you are just visiting, I know your time along our main streets will be an adventure.

Your Mayor and City Council are proud of what we have accomplished, together with. New businesses are being added all the time. Keep up with what is going on. Become “tuned in” to the special seasonal events that make our Main Street the place to be! Be sure and bookmark this site for easy reference.

Please share any comment you may have (bwantz@taneytown.org) with me. I am eager to hear from you!

—Brad Wantz, Mayor
