We often hear, “Taneytown is full of the nicest people.” And that’s because we work to keep it thatway. The Taneytown Ambassadors will soon proudly induct their 100th member since inception in January 2016 at a full member dinner. That’s something to celebrate!
Ambassadors drop a quarter in an expiring meter. Gladly give directions to passersby. Share the latest business incentives. Promote what makes Taneytown great (even while on vacation! And smile…..a lot!

We invite you to be in our Taneytown Ambassador Program. Taneytown Ambassadors are passionate and energetic citizens, like you, who want to help spread the word about our great city.
To be an Ambassador, you will attend a short class on hospitality, Taneytown history, available economic incentives and resources, and the current business climate. Pass the (easy!) quiz and you become an Official Taneytown Ambassador complete with Ambassador credentials!
All we ask is that Ambassadors serve as informal hosts and hostesses in our city and help promote all that is great about Taneytown. The program is absolutely free, but registration for a class is required.
