Luminaria Ceremony: Relay for Life of Taneytown
September 11 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm
When the sun goes down at every American Cancer Society Relay For Life event, hope shines the brightest. During the Luminaria Ceremony, hundreds of luminaria light the track or path to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that has taken too much.
You can give to the American Cancer Society and keep the flame of hope lit by dedicating a luminaria in memory of someone lost to cancer or in honor of someone still fighting or who has beaten the disease.
We are excited to announce that our RFL of Taneytown event for 2021 will begin at Memorial Park on Saturday, September 11th @ 4:30 with a CAR PARADE. The parade led by Survivors and followed by relay teams and all other participants in the day will travel from the park, through some of our Taneytown neighborhoods before returning to the park for food offerings and our Luminaria Ceremony at the gazebo. During this Luminaria Ceremony, the bright lights celebrating the lives of those who have battled cancer will light up the park. This ceremony of light symbolizes hope, perseverance, and our never-ending dedication to fighting until we have a cure.
The suggested luminaria donation amount is $5 each. Please send your tax-deductible donation, payable to the American Cancer Society, and the bottom portion of THIS FORM (Relay for LIfe Luminaria form 2021 PDF) to:
